Iter Community
Welcome to Iter Community -- a site for collaboration, discussion and social networking powered by Drupal Commons, social business software based on the popular web content management system Drupal, with added features specifically designed for building online communities.
Drupal Commons
Drupal Commons provides organizations with a comprehensive solution for forming collaborative communities, bringing together leading social web features for users, and effective community management tools for site owners.
Features Highlight
Drupal Commons offers many options for creating content, including:
- Self-forming groups. Reduce your own community management load and increase user participation by letting community members start their own groups; or limit group creation to your community manager. Your choice.
- Discussions. A group member starts a discussion with a discussion post and other members follow-up with comments that can be listed either oldest or newest first, indented or flat.
- Blogs. Each group has a blog stream where group members can share their thoughts, recent information, or the latest news.
- Documents. Create static pages of documentation that is useful to the group, and optionally attach one or more files to the document page.
- Wiki. All group users can collaborate on content using Commons’ WYSIWYG text editor, but still use standard wiki markup languages to create links to other pages.
- Polls. See what people think with built-in polls. Track results openly, or limit results viewing to the poll creator.
- Events Enable users to coordinate meet-ups, schedule conference calls, or announce other group-oriented events in a group calendar. The site-wide event calendar pulls all group events into a single view.
- RSS Feeds - either direction Commons can both pull-in RSS feeds from other sites that have content relevant to a group. It can also supply RSS feeds for content being added by groups.
- Notices. Community managers can create notices about important site changes or upcoming activities, which appear in high-profile locations on the site.
- WYSIWYG, style-compliant editing. Commons’ GUI provides users with toolbars with the most commonly used editing functions, yet still constrains those choices to the font sizes, colors, and other styles set within your web design standards.
